The scoreline here suggests a very close encounter but that would be unfair to Clonmore who enjoyed the majority of possession but could not convert it into scores. In the first half it ended 0-3 Clonmore to 0-5 St Pats with scores coming from Tommy Byre 0-2, Jack Kennedy 0-2 and Eoin O’Toole. St Pats were lucky to be winning at half time, Clonmore should have been out in front only for their forwards to be very wasteful in front of the posts. In the second half Clonmore came out all guns blazing but just could not convert their fine support play into scores. St Pats stayed within a point of Clomore until the last 7 minutes when Clonmore finally found their range and converted 3 simple chances to win the game, while St Pats could only manage one point from a Jack Kennedy free in the second half. St Pats had started brightly but finished looking a tired side gallantly defending until they finally ran out of steam. Best for Tullow were Peter Fitzgerald, Frank Wallace & Sean Condon, while Bobby Rooney shone for Clonmore.
