The fourth round of the Div 3 league took place on Friday 24th April for St Patricks at home to Eire Og’s second team. St Pats played towards the town end, against the wind, in the opening half and were ahead by the bare minimum on 8-7 at the interval. County man Jack Kennedy got his first touch on 4 mins and opened the scoring. Willie Nolan also kicked a nice score for the Tullow side in an opening half where Marc Corcoran and Corey Harmon were doing the damage for Eire Og. St Pats fouled far too much in scoreable positions which allowed Corcoran to keep the visitors in touch. The sides were level on 4 different occasions in the first half but Kennedy edged the home side ahead with a fantastic free just before the break.

St Pats kicked 4 points early in the second half, one of them a peach from Lorcan O’Toole, and had a 12-9 lead on 40 mins after Willie Nolan hand passed to Paul Rooney as he sat on the ground and Rooney slotted over with the left. Eire Og then hit a purple patch now with Harmon helping to pull them back level at 13 each on 50 mins. The turning point of the game came on 53 mins when Johnny Fitzgerald hit a cross field ball into the square and Rooney soured high with the fist to drive the ball to the net! The game finished on a low for Eire Og with centre back Paddy O’Brien seeing a red card as his frustration of trying to stay with Kennedy got to him. Jacko dusted himself off to slot over from 40 yards which gave Pats their fourth win from as many games. Best for the visitors were Lee Moore, James Ruth and Corey Harmon, who kicked 6 points. For the Tullow side Willie Doran, Shane Rohan and Jack Kennedy shone.
