SFL Division 3 Final

By Kieran Murphy

The senior football league division 3 final proved to be a disappointment for the small attendance who turned up in Dr. Cullen Park on Bank Holiday Monday.

From the off, St. Patrick’s were in determined mood and nothing was going to stand in their way. Jack Kennedy may have registered twelve points but he fed  off the hard work of players such as Padraig Murphy, Josh Doyle and John Fitzgerald. The two goals in the first half were top class with Ger Kavanagh finding the Tullow net with a rocket from the edge of the small square.

Fitzgerald at the start of the second quarter found himself in space at least twenty metres out and his powerful drop-kick whizzed home. At half-time the game was up for Rathvilly when they trailed by 1-12 to 1-1.

St. Patrick’s just needed to avoid mishaps. This they did to run out comfortable winners.
