FL Div3 Palatine 0-9 St Patricks 1-14

posted 12 May 2014, 00:40 by PRO St Pats,Tullow,Carlow
St Pats were victorious once again in Div 3 with an 8 point victory, however the game was very close until the last quarter.

St Pats played with the wind in the first half and got the first score of the game from the throw in through Padraig Murphy. Pal had several wides in the opening quarter and should have been closer at HT. Scores from Jack Kennedy and Willie Doran completed the St Pats scoring, with two Eoin McMahon frees and points from Paddy Carroll and Paddy Cushen meant Pats led Pal 8-4 at the break.

The second half saw McMahon and Cushen close the gap for Pal who could have been level but for great work in the Pats full back line to keep the white flag down on 45mins, the away team counter attacked up the field and Anthony Moran to score a goal to put 6 points between the sides after 46mins, a lead which was never reduced. Jack Kennedy was once again the main scoring threat with Lee Kavanagh playing well in the backs for the Tullow side. Best for Pal was Paddy Cushen.

Scorers;
Pats:J. Kennedy 0.9(4f), A. Moran 1.1, W. Doran 0.3, P. Murphy 0.1
Pal: E. McMahon 0.4(4f), P. Cushen 0.2, P. Carroll 0.1, no.21, no.24 0.1 each.
