posted 19 Jul 2012, 06:34 by PRO St Pats,Tullow,Carlow
Played on a mild dry summers evening, St Pats edged this close encounter by 3 points. Both sides were evenly matched kicking very few wides, with the forwards taking their scores well.
Pats finished the first half ahead by 7 points but Clonmore came out very strong in the second half registering 8 points to St Pats 4 points. Bobby Rooney was red carded after 45mins, but this did not affect Clonmore as they still played very strongly. James Tobin in the Pats goal made a fantastic point blank save with 5 mins to go which ensured Pats held onto their lead and held on for the win. Good team performance from St Pats with impressive play from Johnny Fitzgerald, Padraig Murphy, Jack Kennedy & Darren Butler while Owen Coleman, and Con Murphy stood out for Clonmore
