This game was an even affair in the rain and wind at Bro Leo Park for the first half but Rathvilly dominated the 2nd half and were convincing winners. St Pats will be disappointed with their ball handling, tackling and general work rate which was poor. Players all to often failed to do the simple thing and it proved costly for the home side. The victory earned the village men a league semi final clash v Eire Og while St Pats play Railyard.
Conor Owens gave the St Pats full back line a hard day scoring a total of 2.2, showing his speed and accuracy throughout. Derry Nolan goaled for Pats after 8 minutes with a clever overhead flick of the hand after a long ball in from Stephen Nolan, who was a loss to Pats in the middle when he went off injured in the second half.
Jim Bob Leonard and Danny O'Brien, who both scored and got on lots of ball, won the midfield battle convincingly in a game where the Tullow side lost possession far too often. In defence Allan O'Neill played well but had little help around him in the full back line. In attack for Tullow Brian Kenny tried hard in the forward line. Rathvilly had good performances around the field with Jim Bob leonard standng out along with Owens.

Willie Doran 0.3(0.1f), Derry Nolan 1.0, Brian Kenny, Cathal Bailey (f) Stephen Nolan, William Canavan 0.1 each.
Rathvilly;
