Played on a lovely sunny evening in Tinryland this was a classic Div 5 game with end to end attacking play!

The Tullow side scored first through Aaron Campbell but it was the home side who stormed into a lead of 1.3 to 0.1 after ten minutes. Pats missed a few goal chances at this stage as the Tinryland keeper made some impressive saves from Michael Byrne and Paul Canavan. Eoin O'Toole found the net with a fisted goal after Campbell played the ball across the goal line to him. Pats had yet another goal chance after this and it was Rory Jones who popped up from wing back to steady the ship and get a neat point for Pats to have the sides level on 1.4 each after 20 mins. Eoin O'Toole got his second goal to give Pats a nice lead before the break of 2.8 to 1.4. The best score of the half came when John Kenny won the ball in the centre back position and stormed forward to link well with his brother Colm who played a good ball into the sharp Eoin O'Toole who fed a quick hand pass to the incoming Lorcan O'Toole who slotted over the bar from 25 yards.

The second half saw lots more goal mouth action with Pats hitting the crossbar and side netting as Paul Canavan slotted home Pats third goal on 35 minutes after great work from Jones on the wing again.

The real fun started on 43 minutes when Pats full back Moran (who was playing well) was given a black card. Pats only had 15 players at this stage as John Kenny went off injured at the break. The stand in goalie, Jamie Garry, who ha originally planned on watching the game, went to corner forward while the injured Kenny came back on to play in goal! Campbell moved from centre forward to full back and helped to steady the ship and take the kick outs!

Overall St Pats were much stronger than their opponents and would have had a bigger victory was it not for the sharp goal keeper they faced.

The lads are now close to securing a semi final place in the league and team manager Mick Hade has encouraged all players to put in maximum effort for the coming weeks.
